Rag Radio 2011-07-29 / "Politics and Spirituality" with Author, Editor, and Sixties Activist Sarito Carol Neiman
Sarito Carol Neiman was an editor of the pioneering underground newspaper, The Rag, in 1966 Austin (along with Rag Radio host Thorne Dreyer), and later edited New Left Notes, the national newspaper of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). With then-husband Greg Calvert, Neiman co-authored one of the seminal books of the New Left, "A Disrupted History: The New Left and the New Capitalism," published by Random House in 1971. Sarito became a disciple of the mystic Indian guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (later known as Osho) and served as editor-in-chief at Osho International in New York City from 1997-2007, where she compiled and edited Osho’s posthumous "Authobiography of a Spiritually Incorrect Mystic" published by St. Martin's in 2001. Neiman is also an actress and stage director and appeared in the movie "Moonshine" which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006. She currently lives in Junction, Texas.
